NEWS: Olympia Events teases details of epic new conference centre
Landmark London site's redevelopment has kept the events industry on tenterhooks - now further details have been revealed.
The Olympia Events complex - four iconic exhibition spaces located in London's well-located Hammersmith Road, first built in 1886 - is currently undergoing a £1.3 billion redevelopment project.
The announcement of a new Olympia Conference Centre generated much interest in the UK events industry, and now Olympia has revealed what the landmark centre will look like: an 850-seated capacity auditorium; eight breakout rooms; a boardroom; a business lounge; and a private hire bar and restaurant. It is set to open its doors in Spring 2026.
Developers promise around 3,000sqm of flexible space, connected to the original four exhibition spaces, to allow agencies bespoke event configurations. It will have its own dedicated entrance, however, from Hammersmith Road with modern reception and registration areas.
The regeneration project is led by property company Yoo Capital and investors Deutsche Finance International. The wider complex is set to open in 2025. It will also operate two well-regarded hotels, Hyatt and CitizenM, a 4,400 capacity AEG live music venue a 1,575-seat Trafalgar Entertainment performing arts theatre, over 30 restaurants and bars, a gym, and 2.5 acres of new public realm. Olympia Events aims for the redevelopment to position the complex as 'London’s newest cultural destination'.
Nick Graham, Head of Sales, said: 'It’s an extremely exciting time for Olympia Events with our new conference centre due to launch in 2026. There’s nowhere else in London that will be able to offer the combination of over 130 years of heritage with unparalleled new facilities – it really is the best of both worlds. It has been great to see such a strong level of interest more than a year ahead of opening as it shows people are as excited about our future as we are!'
